Cetacea is the general name for a whole race of sentient sea-dwelling creatures. Cetacea form a very community-based society, traveling mostly in pods around the seas of the world. They seem to greatly value the elders of the pod and carry on stories and knowledge via an extensive oral tradition. Some scholars have went so far as to speculate that the creatures are, in fact, possessing a racial memory, although there has been no serious evidence presented to support this supposition, and much of the considerations may be explained by their oral tradition.

There are a wide variety of different types of Cetacea, from the colossal blues, to the smaller (in comparison) humped ones, to the sleek swiftfins.
