Rakshasas (or as they’d be better known in the Playground, Madness/Moon Demons) are spirits originated of Yhrzallus’ dreaming, both his dreams and nightmares. They are in a sense, an evolutionary step above Lycanthropes, as they were dreamed by the mad god as such. Though his creations, they were not created entirely according to his conscious whims, and run closer to the deity’s ties to Destruction.
The Rakshasa that came to be are few in number compared to most of other races, but that is due to their nature of virtually being spirits, and thus having very, very long lifespans, and so repopulating isn’t much of a need.

The madness demons are very individualistic and some prefer isolation, choosing to keep to their own devices most of the time.
Though Rakshasas are a race as any other, their nature and lifespan makes it rare for two of them to ever get together in order to give birth to a natural offspring. More often than not, new demons come from a different source, Mortals.

The ascension into a Rakshasa is a Secret kept by the Rakshasa themselves, and with good reason, for in the eyes of other mortals and gods, it is not amongst the most righteous. A mortal who crosses an inherent taboo of society within a place influenced by the mad god’s presence has a chance of becoming a madness demon. Plainly put, a mortal who devours the flesh of their own kin, who sins against their very nature may shift into a different state of being and become a madness demon in the process.

Rakshasa society, however, is lawful, and as such, regardless of difference amongst their own, there is a general consensus that work must be put into avoiding accidental transformations, both to avoid a new, unaware Rakshasa and the growth of their numbers too much further from what could be contained.

As for physiology, there’s a divergence amongst their kind. As shape changers, some Rakshasa manifest as humanoids though entirely bestial in nature (as a humanoid alligator for example), while others may choose to revile their beastlike origins and embrace a more human appearance, mimicking almost perfectly other mortal races. However, even those who deny their roots are often prideful, and in most forms, barring an intent of disguising themselves, display a common and notable trait. Eyes with black scleras and glowing irises.

In conclusion, Rakshasas are a lawful and recluse society of highly individualistic beings, and as such don’t have much of a pattern in appearance due to a very strong self-identity and freedom as shapechangers. They don’t often interact with their own, but may do so on occasion, more often to maintain the general consensus of self preservation of their kind.
